ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Trine University men's track and field team was in action at the Alumni Legacy Meet at Concordia University-Ann Arbor on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.
On day one of the event, some throwers competed in the hammer throw and javelin. Colten Zableckis and AJ Henderson were fourth and fifth in the hammer throw, with Zableckis tossing a 46.07-meter (151' 1.00") hammer, a new personal record. Henderson had a score of 43.73 meters (143' 5.00"). In the javelin, Colton Wampler was fifth at 43.05 meters (141' 3.00").
Additional field event scorers included second-place efforts for Greysen Spohn in the high jump (1.92 meters / 6' 3.50") and Alexander Lewis in the shot put (14.54 meters / 47' 8.50"). Morgan Johnson was fifth in the pole vault at 4.10 meters (13' 11.25") and Kimball Hughes seventh in the discus at 39.96 meters (131' 1.00") to wrap up the day two field event leaders for Trine.
Jake Gladieux secured two event wins to highlight the team's track results. He was first in the 200-meter dash at 21.61 seconds, a mark good for 30th in all on NCAA DIII. Spohn was third (22.03 seconds) and Jayjouir Roberts fourth (22.14 seconds) in the event as well, both personal bests. The senior was also victorious in the 400-meter dash at 48.98 seconds.
In the day's shortest event, Roberts finished seventh at 10.97 seconds in the 100-meter dash finals. Samuel Slough was the top scorer for the Thunder in the 800-meter run in eighth (2:05.61) while Caleb Boes was tenth overall in the 1500-meter run (4:20.78).
Trine begins action at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships on Thursday, May 2 at Calvin University.
