ANGOLA, Ind.-- For the second consecutive season, Trine University will host an NCAA Division III Softball Super Regional.
The Thunder and Wisconsin-Oshkosh will meet for game one Friday, May 19 at 4 p.m. at Trine University's SportONE/Parkview Softball Field. The two teams will return to the field Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. The Super Regional follows a best-of-three format, with the if-necessary game following the first game on Saturday.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh is located in Oshkosh, Wis. and competes in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Titans own an overall record of 33-11 and swept its three games in the LaCrosse Regional, defeating Benedictine (Ill.) and earning two wins over Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Wisconsin-Oshkosh is making its seventh NCAA postseason appearance.
The Thunder punched its ticket to the Super Regional round by sweeping three opponents in the Whitewater Regional. Trine capped off its third Regional Championship with a 6-3 victory over Hope. The Thunder own an overall record of 35-8. Trine is making its third Super Regional appearance and will be seeking its second trip to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship.
The winner of the Angola Super Regional advances to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla., where they would meet the winner of the Amherst Super Regional matchup between Ramapo and Amherst.
