ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team remains second in the D3hoops.com Top 25 for week number nine of the 2021-22 season.
The Thunder lost one first-place vote but gained one point overall ahead of third-place Hope College. Christopher Newport University collected a pair of wins to move to 19-0 on the year to retain the top spot.
Trine picked up a victory on Monday 57-48 against Albion College, who received 12 votes in this week's poll, to advance to 18-2 collectively and 11-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play.
During the team's 10-game winning streak, the Thunder are shooting 44.5% from the field with Rachel Stewart [Pekin, Ind. / Eastern] and Sam Underhill [Grand Rapids, Mich. / Northview] shooting above 50% each at 62.3% and 51.0%.
Trine plays at Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, February 9 at 6 pm for their next game.
