FREELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has unveiled the All-MIAA Teams prior to the Quarterfinal games of the MIAA Tournament. The Trine women's basketball team had three student-athletes recognized as all-conference players for the 2021-22 season.
Tara Bieniewicz [Chesterfield, Mich. / Dakota] and Kayla Wildman [Rockford, Mich. / Rockford] were each named First Team All-MIAA and Kelsy Taylor [Louisville, Ky. / New Albany] was mentioned on Second Team All-MIAA.
For the senior guard Bieniewicz, it is the third time in her career being named to the First Team. She averaged a team-high 10.7 points per game during the regular season and shot 41.0% from three after knocking down 59 shots from beyond the arc. Bieniewicz broke the school record for most career three-point field goals earlier this season. Along with excellent shooting stats, she brought in 2.8 rebounds per game and dished out 1.5 assists per game.
Wildman is also now a three-time all-conference honoree after being named First Team last season and Second Team in 2019-20. Wildman is the team's second-leading scorer at 9.4 points per game and connected on 44 three-point shots at a 36.4% clip. She is currently tied for fourth in career three-point field goals in school history at 143. Wildman has brought down 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, both career-highs.
Taylor secured Second Team All-MIAA honors for the second consecutive season. Taylor is matching her career-best season at 9.3 points per game. The senior forward has shot 53.9% from the field this season and has secured 5.3 rebounds per game up to this point. Taylor has 64 offensive rebounds on the year, just one off her previous career high. She has turned away a career-best 16 shots in 2021-22.
