INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The 2022 NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament bracket was revealed on Monday afternoon. The Trine University women's basketball team received an at-large bid into this year's event after the last two national tournaments were cancelled due to COVID-19.
Trine University will also serve as hosts for the first two rounds of the NCAA DIII Women's Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history. The 24-3 Thunder will take on Immaculata University out of the Atlantic East Conference in the opening round. The Mighty Macs were the conference champions and enter the tournament with a record of 18-8 overall. The other game taking place at MTI Center will be the John Carroll University Blue Streaks, who finished runners-up in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) with a 22-4 record, versus Elizabethtown College from the Landmark Conference at 20-4.
Game number one on Friday, March 4 will feature John Carroll and Elizabethtown with a 5 pm tip-off. Following that at 7 pm, Trine and Immaculata will play with both winners advancing to Saturday's Second Round matchup. Tip-off on Saturday, March 5 is slated for 5 pm.
Tickets will be sold at the gate only, with general admission seats for $10 and student/senior tickets for $7.
