KALAMAZOO, MICH. -- The Trine University women's golf team finished in a tie for fourth out of nine teams at the Kalamazoo (Mich.) College Invitational at Milham Park in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The Thunder put together a team score of 352 strokes to tie for fourth overall. Hope (Mich.) College captured the event with a score of 330 strokes and both St. Mary's (Ind.) College and Calvin (Mich.) University finished with scores of 334 strokes to tie for second.
Sophomore Maire Sullivan (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) led Trine individually with a single-round total of 86 strokes and placed in a tie for 14th overall. Sophomore Lily Williamson (Colfax, Ind./Western Boone) had the second lowest score of the team at 87 strokes and placed in the top-20 in a tie for 16th place.
Junior Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) carded a round of 88 strokes to place third on the team and was followed by sophomore Reagan Guthrie (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa Area) who shot a round of 91 strokes.
Senior Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) was fifth with a tournament total of 95 strokes.
Trine's Anabelle Burkholder (Lima, Ohio/Bath) competed as an individual for the Thunder and ended the one-day competition with a score of 100 strokes.
The Thunder are scheduled to compete in the Hope Invitational on Monday, Apr. 5 at Clearbrook Golf Club in Saugatuck, Mich. The round is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
