ALBION, Mich. – In the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) event of the fall season, the Trine women's golf team placed fifth at Duck Lake Country Club in Albion, Michigan with a team score of 336.
Hope College was able to take home the team award with a 320.
Leading the way for the Thunder was freshman Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] with an 81. She notched a team-high 10 pars on her way to an eighth-place finish on the player leaderboard.
Fellow freshman Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] had the lowest round of her collegiate career Tuesday by shooting an 84.
Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] wrapped up play with an 85, while her fellow junior Lily Williamson was one stroke back of Sullivan at 86.
Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] concluded her conference round with an 87.
Individual performers for Trine were Kelly Miller [Bryan, Ohio / Bryan] and Caroline Boyd [Logansport, Ind. / Logansport].
The Thunder women will have a week and a half to prepare for the next MIAA Jamboree in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 25.
