KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team was eighth in Saturday's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAA) Jamboree event at Milham Park.
Hope College won the event by a single stroke over Adrian College, as Morgan Yates of Alma College won the players championship with a 74.
Trine falls to seventh through two conference events.
The Thunder were led by Maire Sullivan [Plymouth, Mich. / Plymouth] with an 86. She birdied the par-4 7th hole to highlight her day.
Lily Williamson [Colfax, Ind. / Western Boone] and Carli Sanford [Howe, Ind. / Sturgis] each snagged birdies as well. It was Williamson on the par-4 14th on her way to an 88 and Sanford on the par-4 2nd hole in a round of 91.
Freshmen Grace Dubec [Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern] and Bailey Bravata [Holland, Mich. / Zeeland East] tied for the final scoring position at 95.
The team brought Kelly Miller [Bryan, Ohio / Bryan] as an individual competitor.
The Trine women's golfers continue their conference schedule on Tuesday, September 28 at Clearbrook Golf Course in Saugatuch, Michigan.
