BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team concluded their fall season on Saturday afternoon at Bedford Valley Country Club. The Thunder placed sixth overall at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Fall Championships and sophomore Grace Dubec was named Second Team All-MIAA.
Dubec carded an 81 on Saturday and finished 11th in the conference in scoring average (82.0). She becomes the program's first All-MIAA recipient since 2019 and it is the sophomore's first postseason award. She had the lowest Trine round of the weekend with a team-high eight pars and a birdie on the par-5 hole 13.
Adrian College was the team champion of the MIAA with a scoring average of 320.17 over the six conference rounds. Team member Olivia Ohmer was the individual champion at 78.17. With their sixth-place team finish, Trine does not qualify for an opportunity at the NCAA Tournament Automatic Qualifier this spring.
Calley Ruff had the next lowest score for the team with a day-two 85. She hit a birdie on hole four to highlight her round. Once again one stroke back of her was Máire Sullivan at 86. The senior had six pars on her scorecard.
Reagan Guthrie and Bailey Bravata were the other team members for the Thunder Saturday. Guthrie shot an 89 with a birdie on the par-3 hole 17 and Bravata a 96. She hit for birdie on a par-3 hole as well, the fifth hole. Individual competitor Caroline Boyd shot a 102.
The Trine women's golf fall season comes to a close with this event, but the team will announce their spring schedule in the coming months.
