RICHMOND, Ind. – After 18 holes at Highland Lake Golf Course, the Trine University women's golf team sits fourth on the team leaderboard at the IU East Fall Invitational.
The host school IU East holds the team lead at 321 strokes, while St.-Mary's-of-the-Woods has two teams in second and third overall. The Thunder are fourth with a combined 338.
Junior Grace Dubec paced the team with a score of 78 to put her in a tie for third. She is two strokes back from the clubhouse leader halfway through the event. Sophomore Calley Ruff is tied for 17th after day one with a score of 85.
A score of 87 for junior Bailey Bravata puts her tied for 20th on the playerboard and freshman Mae Norman is one stroke back of her in a tie for 22nd. Sophomore Sophie Argyle wrapped up play with a 93, tied for 33rd. Competing as an individual, sophomore Grace Thiele shot a 90 to put her alone in 28th.
Play continues on Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. to determine a champion in the team's first 36-hole tournament.
