MARSHALL, Mich. – The Trine University women's golf team tied for ninth in the 36-hole Kyle Campbell Memorial at The Medalist Golf Club. The Thunder took one stroke off of yesterday's team score and finished the tournament at 691 (346-345).
Bethel University out of Indiana were the team champions and had two scorers inside the top ten, but Trine was represented by Grace Dubec as an All-Tournament Team honoree thanks to her round of 78 on Saturday. She finished in a tie for seventh place on the leaderboard at 159 (81-78).
Mae Norman shot the second-lowest total for the Thunder. The freshman took five strokes off her score on day one with an 86 on Saturday to finish in a tie for 47th at 177 (91-86). Bailey Bravata was one stroke back of Norman in a tie for 49th at 178 (87-91).
Grace Thiele marked the same score on her card on Saturday as she did Friday with dueling 90's to finish at 180. Calley Ruff shot a 94 on Saturday to wrap up the event at 182 (88-94). Individual scorers for Trine included Caroline Boyd at 185 (96-89), Payton Ault at 191 (97-94), Sophie Argyle at 195 (98-97) and Brayton Huffman at 203 (109-94).
In the team's next tournament, conference play will begin. Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #1 takes place on Thursday, September 14 at Cascades Golf Course in Jackson, Michigan. Albion College will be the host of MIAA Jamboree #1.
