ANGOLA, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have announced their 2021-22 At-Large NCAA Division III Academic All-District Teams and Trine University women's hockey was represented by senior Brandi Wilson (Fenton, Mich.).
Wilson becomes the first student-athlete in the program's history to earn Academic All-District status adding to the impressive haul of awards she has already received following her final season. Wilson also became the first member of the program to be named AHCA All-American, along with classmate Kirsten Vandenheuvel (Denfield, Ontario), and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year.
The multitude of awards comes on the back of a spectacular season for Wilson. She finished the year with 40 points including 21 goals and 19 assists, all three becoming new program single-season records. She also averaged 1.43 points per game, another record. Wilson led the NCHA in points and goals while coming in second in assists.
Wilson graduates from Trine with a degree in Communications with an impressive 3.94 cumulative GPA. She is the lone women's hockey representative for District 7, which covers institutions in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
By receiving the award Wilson advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.
