AUSTIN, Texas – Trine University women's hockey senior Brandi Wilson (Fenton, Mich.) adds to her impressive resume becoming the first player in program history to earn Academic All-American status as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their 2021-22 Women's At-Large Academic All-America teams.
Wilson appears as a third-team selection for the award, another first to add to her impressive haul of awards. Wilson also became the first member of the program to be named AHCA All-American, along with classmate Kirsten Vandenheuvel (Denfield, Ontario), and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year.
The multitude of awards comes on the back of a spectacular season for Wilson. She finished the year with 40 points including 21 goals and 19 assists, all three becoming new program single-season records. She also averaged 1.43 points per game, another record. Wilson led the NCHA in points and goals while coming in second in assists.
Wilson graduates from Trine with a degree in Communications with an impressive 3.94 cumulative GPA.
She is just one of five women's ice hockey student-athletes to be named Academic All-American and the lone representative among Northern Collegiate Hockey Association teams.
