ANGOLA, Ind. – Another near record performance in net, this time from senior Marie Dedert, was not enough as the visiting team from Adrian College defeated the Trine University women's hockey team 3-0 to finish off the weekend sweep.
The nationally ranked Bulldogs posted their lowest shot total in the first period of the game. Their 17 shots on goal where all turned aside by Dedert and the two teams entered the intermission still scoreless.
The barrage of shots paid off in the second period when Adrian put 28 on net with three finding the back of the net.
The third was another scoreless period, with Dedert turning aside 22 shots to hold the score at 3-0.
The Thunder fall to 0-6-0 overall and 0-4-0 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) play following the loss. They will make a quick turn around to their next game, traveling to face Aurora University for a non-conference contest on Tuesday, November 22. That contest is scheduled to start at 8:35 p.m. ET.
