HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – For the third time in the 2024 season, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) recognized junior midfielder Brooke Hoag of the Trine University women's lacrosse team as Athlete of the Week. It is the second time this year where Hoag has received Specialist of the Week honors from the conference.
The Portage, Michigan native was pivotal in the team's victories over Albion College 10-9 in overtime and 14-3 at Alma College. The Thunder are now 9-3 overall this season and remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0 thanks to the work of Hoag in the draw control circle.
The midfielder totaled ten draw controls in the two wins, eight of them coming in the Saturday game against the Scots. Hoag had a pair of goals in each conference affair to help the offense and defensively, she scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. She is second in the MIAA with 29 caused turnovers on the season.
Trine will play host to Saint Mary's College in their next game on Tuesday, April 16. The opening draw control will take place on Shive Field at 7 p.m.
