GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Trine University women's soccer team found themselves outgunned by their hosts from Calvin University as they fell by the score of 5-0 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match.
The Knights found the back of the net early tallying their first goal in just the first minute of play. They would add two more before the ten-minute mark and ultimately took a 4-0 lead into the intermission.
A final goal for Calvin came in the first five minutes of the second half and they would carry the 5-0 lead to the finish for the victory.
The Thunder struggled to move the ball in the offensive zone forcing just three saves from the opposition's keeper.
Trine falls to 8-2 overall and 1-1 in MIAA play following the loss. They will continue their season when they host Kalamazoo College on Friday, April 9. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
