NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Trine University women's tennis rolled to a 9-0 victory over Manchester University. The team turned in a dominating performance dropping just six games throughout the dual.
The No. 3 doubles team of junior Camille Lozier (Elkhart, Ind. / Concord) and freshman Jadyn Davis (Angola, Ind. / Angola) picked up the lone sweep of the first part of the match, 8-0. The other two doubles teams each took their matches with scores of 8-1. Juniors Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) and Ellie Cole (Albion, Ind. / Central Noble) took the No. 1 position while seniors Andrea Jordan (New Haven, Ind. / New Haven) and Trista Savage (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) participated at No. 2.
In the singles portion of the evening, Spirrison in the No. 1 match and Savage in the No. 5 match took 6-0, 6-1 victories. Davis in the No. 2 match and sophomore Eva Morales (Elkhart, Ind. / Elkhart Memorial) in the No. 3 match took home 6-1, 6-0 wins. Cole at No. 3 and Lozier at No. 6 both swept their opponents for 6-0, 6-0 wins.
The Thunder improve to 4-0 following the win. They will face off with Manchester again on Saturday, Sept. 26, this time on their home courts. That dual is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
