ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Trine University women's track and field team was in action on Saturday afternoon at the University of Mount Union for the Toy Drive Invite.
The highlight of the day for the Trine women came from Haley Livingston [Fort Worth, Texas / Everman]. Livingston broke two school records: the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash events. Livingston recorded a new best time of 9.14 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles. She placed sixth in the 60-meter dash at 8.13 seconds and broke the school record in the prelims with a new personal best time of 8.04 seconds.
In addition to breaking records in the track events, Livingston also competed in two field events. Livingston placed second in the long jump at 5.29 meters (17' 4.25") and fourth in the triple jump at 10.05 meters (32' 11.75").
In other field events, Lia Vawter [Franklin, Ind. / Franklin] and Halle Tisovic [Bryan, Ohio / Ohio Virtual Academy] were 2-3 in the high jump at 1.45 meters (4' 9") and 1.40 meters (4' 7"). In the pole vault, Autumn Presley [Pleasant Lake, Ind. / Angola] was third with a height of 3.07 meters (11' 0.75"). Madelyn Summers [Kendallville, Ind. / East Noble] competed in the weight throw and shot put on Saturday. Summers also finished fifth in the weight throw (13.16 meters / 43' 2") and ninth in the shot put (11.16 meters / 36' 7.5").
Thunder student-athletes claimed second, third and fourth place in the one-mile run. Ana Parker [White Lake, Mich. / Walled Lake Northern] was just off her personal best at 5:48.68, followed by Marissa Kenney [South Bend, Ind. / J.W. Riley] with a personal best 5:53.80, and Erin Downing [Columbus Grove, Ohio / Columbus Grove] at 5:55.88.
Stephanie Hartpence [Elkhart, Ind. / Concord] placed fifth in the 400-meter run (1:04.45) and Kennedi Sternberg [Kouts, Ind. / Kouts] came in seventh place in the 200-meter run (27.41 seconds).
The Trine women's track and field team is back in action on Friday, December 10 at the Indiana Tech Strive for Greatness Indoor Meet.
