WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Trine University Track and Field team saw two student-athletes garner All-American status in three different events on Saturday at the NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Evie Miller [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] competed in the mile run and 3000-meter run at the JDL Fast Track and finished top four in both. The senior was second in the mile run, just 0.19 seconds off the national championship, with a time of 4:48.16. Miller secured a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter run later in the day at 9:47.27. For Miller, these are her sixth and seventh times being named NCAA All-American.
Junior Jake Gladieux [Oregon, Ohio / Whitmer] placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday with a new personal best and school record time of 8.06 seconds. This is Gladieux's second time being named All-American, the first of which being at last year's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, where he was National Champion in the 400-meter hurdle event.
The Thunder will get into the outdoor portion of their schedule on Saturday, March 26 when the team travels to Cedarville University to compete in the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open.
