EAST LANSING, Mich. – At the 2023 Auto Owners Spartan Invitational at Forest Akers East Golf Course (hosted by Michigan State University), the Trine University women's cross country team placed seventh out of ten teams and the host Spartans were the team champions of the event.
Pacing the team was junior Chloe Goodrich in 61st overall. She would pass teammate and classmate Lydia Randolph in the closing stages of the 6K event to secure a time of 23:29.8, breaking her own personal record. Randolph crossed the finish in 69th at 23:44.3.
The final three scoring members of the team included sophomore Eleanor Young in 78th with a time of 23:56.5 (personal best), sophomore Bailey Puckett in 91st at 24:13.5 (personal best) and junior Hannah Parker in 96th after running a 24:31.5.
The sixth and seventh-best finishers for Trine were sophomore Sidney Swick (25:21.4) and senior Marissa Kenney (26:21.6).
The team travels south to Louisville, Kentucky for their next meet, the Louisville Invite at EP Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday, September 30.
