Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium

Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium, completed in 2010, is a micro–stadium for football, lacrosse and soccer. With a capacity of more than 5,000 fans, the stadium is complete with four suites, press box, control room, a spacious hospitality box for supporters, and its open–air Thunder deck. The stadium provides a tremendous facility for both day and night games and practice for Thunder teams. The stadium also houses football offices, a weight room, sports medicine area, and a large scoreboard.

The Thunder football team consistently ranks at the top of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in attendance.

The stadium includes five working boxes for coaches, media, radio and game operations.

The weight room includes six double–sided power racks for efficient weight–training sessions, free weights, dumbbells up to 120 pounds, plyometric boxes and a number of other performance–building training tools. The room also includes two lat pulldown machines, a foot–work ladder and dot drill stations.

The locker room can serve more than 150 players and includes coolers and ample shower and restroom areas. The locker room also has video capabilities for game tape viewing.

The stadium′s administrative area includes six coaches′ offices, an offensive linemen suite and a staff conference room. Each room includes wireless internet and video–screening capabilities.

Thunder athletes are prepared for any surface with two grass practice fields and the Sport Turf at Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.

A fan favorite, this open–air platform provides a prime vantage point of Shive field for Thunder Club members.

The hospitality suite is a 1,300–square–foot elevated, climate controlled comfortable space for welcoming special guests. The suite comes complete with full–service food and dining, several large–screen televisions and a fireplace.

Four private suites for VIPs equipped with video and audio come with a full menu of food. The VIP boxes substitute as hotel rooms for overnight guests throughout the year (excluding game days).

Adjacent to the locker room, the training room couples the latest in sports medicine with a top–notch athletic training staff. Room features six taping and treatment tables for student–athletes.
