OLIVET, MICH.-- The Trine women's lacrosse team was defeated by Olivet, 13-6, in MIAA-action Saturday afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

A seven-goal Comet run from the 8:34 mark of the first half to 10:23 remained in the second turned a five-all tie into a comfortable lead the Thunder could not overcome. Taylor Guarnaccia and Mackenzie Inman each scored five goals to lead the way for the Comets. Taylor Gast (Akron, Ind./Tippecanoe Valley) scored three goals to pace the Thunder attack. Olivet held a 33-24 edge in shots and a 13-7 edge in draw controls. Trine falls to 1-5 overall, 0-2 in the MIAA. Olivet improves to 2-7 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Gast's third goal of the game knotted the score at 5-5 with 9:09 remaining in the first half before Olivet's seven-goal run gave the Comets control. Guarnaccia and Inman combined for six of those goals.

Darcy Little (Williamsburg, Ohio/Williamsburg) notched two goals for Trine. Grace Garrett (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) made 12 saves in goal.

Trine returns to action Tuesday, Apr. 8 when they host Alma as part of NCAA Division III Week. Game-time is set for 4:00 p.m.
