CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – In the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) individual postseason awards, sophomore defensive specialist and libero Hunter Haas [Cincinnati, Ohio / Bishop Moeller] has been named MCVL Defensive Player of the Year.
Haas finished the 2022 season with 19 matches played and a team-high 198 digs. He averaged 3.05 digs per set to lead the MCVL in the category. He had double digit digs in eight matches this season, including a season-best 23 in a five-set win against Loras College. His 23 digs are the second-most in a single match by any league player this year.
Along with his dig numbers, Haas also distributed 54 assists in the 2022 campaign and helped lead the Thunder to their second MCVL Tournament appearance. This is the second time winning the MCVL Defensive Player of the Year for Haas in just his sophomore year.
