ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's volleyball program has announced dates for several upcoming camps in July. The Thunder will be hosting six camps geared toward middle and high school aged athletes.
The team's Middle School Day Camp will be held Thursday, July 14 through Saturday, July 16. The camp will run from Thursday and Friday 9 am to 11:15 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Saturday's session from 9 am to 12:00 pm will be game play oriented. The camp is designed to give campers a well-rounded knowledge of the game and will include basic skills, position understanding, technique, movement work, and overall flow of the game. Cost of the camp is $130.
The Advanced Skills/Elite Camp will be held Saturday, July 16 to Sunday, July 17. Participants will receive eight hours of advanced skills training including scrimmage play. Specific instruction will be available for setting, attacking and defensive skills during the camp. Cost of the camp is $160 for overnight campers and $130 for commuters. The camp is open to incoming high school freshmen to graduating seniors interested in playing at the next level.
Three camps will be offering in-depth position-specific work, each covering the nuances of specific court positions. Middles and setters camp will be held Monday, July 25. Specific setters training will be offered Tuesday, July 26 coinciding with attacker/pins training. The defense, serve and pass camp will be offered Wednesday, July 27. The cost for these specialty training camps is $50 for two 2-hour training sessions running from 10 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm.
