NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) have announced the 2022-23 recipients of the All-America Scholar award. Three members of the Trine University men’s golf team were honored for their efforts on the course and in the classroom this past season in senior Charlie Eriksen, junior Mark Civanich and sophomore Kyler Rod.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), have been announced for the remainder of the 2022-23 athletic seasons. Trine University had 26 student-athletes represent the institution on their respective All-District teams.
WEST OLIVE, Mich. – The Trine University men’s golf team had the lowest combined score in the third round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Automatic Qualifier, but could not make up the deficit to Hope College in the 54-hole event to secure a spot in the NCAA National Championship field. The Thunder fired a 291 on Saturday with four scoring members inside the top-10.
WEST OLIVE, Mich. – The Trine University men’s golf team put together some quality rounds at the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Automatic Qualifier second round on Friday afternoon at the Wuskowhan Players Club. The Thunder were second on the day with a team score of 308 and were four strokes back of Adrian College.
ANGOLA, Ind. – In the AC Eddy Invitational at the home course for the Trine University men’s golf team, Zollner Golf Course, the Thunder were able to retain both the team and individual trophies. Trine was first with a team score of 290, seven strokes ahead of Adrian College in second. Mitch Lowney was the only student-athlete under par with a 2-under 69 for the day to claim individual medalist honors.

NORMAL, Ill. – On day two of the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, the Trine University men’s golf team finished in a tie for 12th among 37 teams. The Thunder picked up two spots from their day one total by shooting a combined 308 on Saturday afternoon. Trine was the top Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) squad at the event, topping Hope College, Calvin University and Kalamazoo College.

TECUMSEH, Mich. – On Saturday, the Trine University men’s golf team was in action at the third Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree event of the 2022 fall season, this time at Tecumseh Golf Club, home of the Adrian College Bulldogs. The Thunder were second-place overall as a team, with a pair of team members finishing in the top three on the player leaderboard.
NASHPORT, Ohio – The Trine University men’s golf team concluded play at the 36-hole Region V Preview event on the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio on Tuesday. The team secured a third-place finish out of 15 teams and junior Mark Civanich was individual medalist with a score of 151 (75,76). Otterbein University secured the top team score at 627, while the College of Wooster was second at 637 and Trine third with a score of 639.
