ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University men's and women's cross country programs along with head coach Zach Raber have unveiled their season schedule in 2023. There are eight meets on the calendar this fall, including three postseason events. Last year, the Thunder placed third in both the men's and women's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings and had a combined seven (four women, three men) named All-MIAA.
The first date of competition for the teams will be local at Purdue-Fort Wayne. The Mastodon XC Opener takes place on Friday, September 1 with the men's event beginning at 6 p.m. and the women's at 6:30 p.m.
From there, Trine competes in back-to-back events out of state, starting with the 2023 Auto Owners Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University. That event at Forest Akers East Golf Course takes place on Friday, September 15. Two weeks later, the teams take on competition in the Bluegrass State for the Louisville Invite at EP Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday, September 30.
Local competition resumes when the Trine men and women go to Bethel University to take the course at the Bethel University XC Invitational on Friday, October 6. From there, the Thunder venture west to the Augustana Interregional Invitational at Saukie Golf Course on Saturday, October 14. This will be the final regular season event before the MIAA XC Championships.
