ANGOLA, Ind. -- Senior Jacqueline Baughman (Lake Orion, Mich. / Lutheran Northwest) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in women's volleyball.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
This is the second time that Baughman has been named to the team, a first for the program. Her first time receiving the honor came in 2019 when she also was named an CoSIDA Academic All-American® Second Team selection.
"We are so excited to have Jacqueline recognized for this award as she is a role model for what our program stands for," said head coach Jamie Wozniak, "She is a dedicated student and ultra-competitive player who exhibits excellence both on and off the court. We can not wait to see what she accomplishes in this fall."
Baughman, an Exercise Science Pre Physical Therapy major, has exhibited excellence in the classroom by accumulating a 4.00 GPA in her college career. She has also been named to the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic Honor Roll for the past three seasons, with this year's list yet to be announced.
Baughman had another solid year for the Thunder as the team's primary setter. Despite missing the fall portion of the season, she finished the season with 270 total assists while averagin 9.31 assists per set. She currently sits in fifth in career assists at Trine and third with a career average of 7.43 assists per set.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
