ANGOLA, Ind. -- Jordan Kreglow enters his sophomore season as one of nine returning players from the Thunder's record setting 18 win 2015-16 team.
Playing behind senior point guard Ben Syroka for much of the season, Kreglow (Gibsonburg, Ohio/ Gibsonburg) emerged late in the year with a couple of fantastic performances. His 13 points in a win at Olivet helped keep Trine's postseason hopes alive and his spark off the bench eventually propelled the Thunder into the MIAA Tournament.
The following week in the MIAA Tournament Semifinal, the freshman guard was able to contribute nine points and three assists in a victory against No. 5 Hope on its home floor in front of a sellout crowd. That victory boosted the Thunder into its first ever MIAA Tournament Championship Game appearance.
Why did you choose Trine University?
I chose Trine University because I was treated like family the moment I stepped on campus with not just the basketball team but Trine as a whole. Also, the endless opportunities that Trine has to offer in sports and in academics.
What was the biggest lesson you learned from last season?
The biggest lesson that I learned from last season was to never get too high and never get too low on myself. When I finally figured that out and stayed positive, both the team and I became more successful.
What have you worked on most this off season?
What I have worked on the most this off season is to have more of a vocal presence on and off the court. Being the point guard, Coach Miller and I both believe a strong verbal presence is a major key to success.
What is something most people don't know about Jordan Kreglow?
Most people don't know that I love to go golfing in my free time.
What would you like to be remembered for after you graduate from Trine University?
After I graduate from Trine, I would like to be remembered as one of the best teammates and leaders that anyone has ever had.
Trine opens the season Tuesday, Nov. 15 when the team hosts Defiance in Hershey Hall.
