PHOENIX, Ariz. – Head Coach Brooks Miller of the Trine University men’s basketball team has been named the Glenn Robinson Award winner as the top NCAA Division III coach during the 2023-24 season. The award was announced in the lead up to the NCAA Division I Final Four in Phoenix, Arizona.
ANGOLA, Ind. – For the first time in program history, the Trine University men’s basketball team sits atop the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll in the final edition of the national rankings for the 2023-24 season. The Thunder had been as high as #2 in the country both in the 2020-21 season and earlier this year. Trine collected all 25 first-place votes to be the unanimous number one as the reigning National Champions.

Garland was named Second Team All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and a Second Team All-Region selection by D3hoops.com last week and is now the first All-American selection from the men’s basketball program since the 2020-21 season.

The teams will share the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship title, but the Thunder will host the MIAA Tournament by virtue of winning the tiebreaker between the schools. Both teams conclude the regular season with identical records of 22-3 and 14-2 inside the conference.
