ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University has advanced to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball National Championship Semifinals after the team's 88-86 overtime victory against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday.
The Thunder will now face Trinity (Conn.) College at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14 for a chance to reach the National Championship game. On the other side of the bracket, Old Dominican Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals square off as Hampden-Sydney College and Guilford College meet at 5:30 p.m. The two winners will clash on Saturday, March 16 at 4:06 p.m. in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game.
Tickets for the event can be purchased using the ALLEN COUNTY WAR MEMORIAL COLISEUM WEBSITE. All-session passes are $40 for adults and $30 for children (2-12) and seniors (65+). Single session tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children (2-12) and seniors (65+). The all-session pass includes tickets to both semifinal games, the Reese's NABC D3 All Star Game and the NCAA Tournament Championship game. Single session tickets are exclusively for the two semifinal games on Thursday.

Trine enters play with a program-record 27 wins and four losses on the year. Four consecutive victories inside the MTI Center have put the team in position to play for a national championship in their first NCAA Tournament appearance. The Thunder needed dramatics to upend Wisconsin-Platteville in their last game, with Drew Moore hitting three free throws in the final two seconds of regulation and Cortez Garland nailing a mid-range jumper to beat the buzzer and escape with the win after being down 10 with 1:41 to play.
The Trinity College Bantams are 30-1 on the season and are riding a 10-game win streak. Trinity was the regular season and tournament champions in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and defeated Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Calvin University 69-62 in the Sectional Finals to advance to Fort Wayne. The Bantams are a team known for their defense, ranked third in the country in scoring defense (56.5 PPG) and field goal percentage defense (36.8%).
The Hampden-Sydney Tigers will also take a 30-win resume for Fort Wayne at 30-2 on the year after qualifying for the NCAA Tournament by winning the ODAC Tournament Championship. The Tigers defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 68-60 in the Sectional Finals. The Guilford Quakers are 26-4 after receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The team has won four straight games, including their 50-48 Sectional Final win against Christopher Newport University, the defending NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament champions.
