ANGOLA, Ind. – In the week three D3hoops.com Top 25, the Trine University men's basketball team remained ranked 19th in NCAA DIII.
The Thunder were able to stave off a comeback attempt by the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in their most recent game by a score of 79-78. Grant Pahl buried a three-point field goal to give the team a three-point lead with less than one minute remaining and a defensive stand on the final possession allowed Trine to nab the narrow victory.
The Thunder are one of 18 teams in NCAA DIII who are undefeated in the 2023-24 season. Trine is one of two teams in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) with a 7-0 record, the other school being Calvin University, who has ascended to the number two spot in the rankings.
On Monday, December 18, the Thunder are back in action at Anderson University beginning at 2 p.m. From there, Trine hits the road again on Wednesday, December 20 at Elmhurst University, who is currently 15th in the D3hoops.com Top 25.
