STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Members of the Trine University women's wrestling program ended the season by traveling to the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling (NCWWC) Regional hosted by University of Wisconsin Stevens Point this past weekend.
Junior Riley Morrison was the highlight of the event for the Thunder turning in a fifth-place finish. After dropping her opening round match to the eventual third-place finisher, Morrison rattled off two straight pins to move into the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Her second loss of the day sent her to the fifth-place match where she recorded a third pin to secure the spot. She unfortunately misses out on qualifying for nationals, with the top four in each weight class receiving bids.
Also competing at the event for the team were junior Michelle Sanchez, sophomore Ashton Francis and freshman Charissa Fauber.
