OBERLIN, Ohio – The Trine University women's cross country team was fifth out of 33 teams, and topped the five other Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) teams, at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.
Senior Evie Bultemeyer [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] was able to run away from the pack for the individual win at the event by over 30 seconds of second place. Bultemeyer completed the 6K race with a season-best time of 21:14.5.
Chloe Brittain [Wheeler, Mich. / Breckenridge] was the second Thunder finisher in 27th with a time of 23:21.5. Brittain knocked 33 seconds off her previous best time of 2021. Carol Haldeman [Syracuse, Ind. / Fairfield] finished in 33rd with a time of 23:27.2, a career-best mark for the sophomore.
Freshmen Chloe Goodrich [Burlington, Ind. / Carroll] and Lydia Randolph [Jefferson, Ohio / Edgewood Senior] finished back-to-back in 55th and 56th place. Goodrich ran a time of 23:48.9, taking 42 seconds off her time from Louisville earlier this season. Randolph also set a new best time at Oberlin with a 23:50.5.
This meet was preparation for the MIAA Championships on Friday, October 29 at St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana.
