ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine defensive back Blaek Combs its Defensive Player of the Week in football for games played through Sept. 14.
Combs, a senior from Rushville, Ind. (Rushville HS), made 11 tackles, including eight solo stops, forced a fumble, had one tackle for loss and intercepted a pass that led to the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter of Trine's 16-7 victory over then nationally-ranked Elmhurst. Combs is being honored as Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career.
