ANGOLA, Ind.-- The Trine men's basketball team will host the St. Andrews Products Classic this weekend in Hershey Hall.
The Thunder will be joined in the four-game invitational by fellow MIAA member Adrian, CCIW member Millikin and Wisconsin-Oshosh of the WIAC. The four teams enter the weekend with a combined record of 22-9 this season. The teams feature a combined five all-conference performers from the 2014-15 season. Games begin Saturday, Dec. 19 with Adrian facing Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 5 p.m. This is the first regular-season tournament Trine has hosted since 2010.

Trine

The Thunder have been tested in the early going, with a 4-1 record against teams above .500. Trine boasts the sixth-best scoring defense in the nation, allowing just 58.6 points per game. The Thunder allow opponents to shoot just 38.4 percent from the field while shooting at a 47.6 percent clip themselves. Trine's scoring margin of plus-13.6 ranks 25th in the nation.
Jared Holmquist (Reed City, Mich./Reed City) ranks 27th in the nation in scoring, averaging 22.9 points per game. His 10.1 rebounds per game lead the MIAA and rank 41st nationally. He has notched four double-doubles this year. Will Dixon (Indianapolis, Ind./Zionsville) leads the MIAA with a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ration and averages 15.6 points per game.
Adrian

The Bulldogs bring their familiar brand of tough defense into this weekend's action. Adrian is only to Trine in most MIAA defensive categories, allowing 65.5 points per game. The Bulldogs also average over 14 offensive rebounds per game, a mark that ranks 40th nationally.
Christian Covile has notched four double-doubles this season for Adrian. A transfer from NAIA member Siena Heights, he is averaging 18.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Rickey Jackson Jr. also returns as an All-MIAA Second Team performer last season.
Millikin

The Big Blue are on pace for a strong turnaround after back-to-back 8-17 seasons. Millikin's ability to get to the free throw line has been a major strength this season, as they have attempted the 36th-most free throws in the nation. The Big Blue shoot 74.7 percent from the line.
Reigning CCIW Co-Freshman of the Year TJ Sims leads Millikin in averaging 24.0 points per game. He is an 89.8 percent free throw shooter. TJ Griffin adds 11.8 points and is dishing out 5.6 assists per game.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh

The Titans are off to a strong start after entering the preseason ranked 23rd in the D3Hoops.com Top 25 Poll. Oshkosh is shooting 48.9 percent from the field, a mark that ranks 33rd in the nation. The Titans shoot 41.8 percent from three-point range, the 16th-best mark nationally. Oshkosh is 14th in scoring margin at plus-16.3.
Charlie Noone leads the three-point efforts at a 48.4 percent clip from deep. Reigning all-conference performer Alex Olson averages 10.9 points per game. The Titans rely on depth, with eight players in the regular playing rotation averaging more than five points per game.

Trine is located in Angola, Indiana, approximately seven miles south of the intersection of I-69 and I-80/90 (Indiana Toll Road).
From US-20/Maumee Street, head south on Summit Drive (follow signs to Trine University Athletic Fields). The east lot of Hershey Hall is located at the end of Summit Drive.
