FREELAND, Mich.-- Trine's Tyler Bourdo has been named MIAA Track Athlete of the week for the second-consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.
Bourdo (Plainwell, Mich./Delton-Kellogg) won the 400-meter dash in 47.92 seconds at Grand Valley State University's Al Owens Invitational. The mark is the best run by an MIAA runner in the event this season and the sixth-best time in the nation. The senior also helped the 4-x-100-relay team to a second-place finish in 41.76 seconds, first in the MIAA and eighth in the nation. Bourdo is being honored as the MIAA Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the sixth in his career.
The honor is the latest in a strong career for Bourdo. The senior is a four-time All-American in the 400-meter dash, with two honors apiece in the indoor and outdoor seasons. Bourdo holds three individual school-records and is a part of the best 4-by-400-relay time in team history.
Trine will compete in the Hillsdale Gina Relays this Friday and Saturday, April 24-25 at Hillsdale College.
