MARSHALL, MICH. -- The Trine University women's golf team placed seventh at the Olivet (Mich.) College Spring Invitational hosted at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich.
The Thunder finished with a team score of 363 strokes to place seventh of eight teams. St. Mary's (Ind.) College posted the lowest overall score of 330 strokes and was followed by Calvin (Mich.) University with 338 strokes. Albion (Mich.) College was third at 351 strokes.
Among the top four individual scores for Trine, junior Jenna Doumont (Burlington, Ky./Villa Madonna Academy) had the low round of the day of 87 strokes and placed in a tie for 18th overall.
Sophomores Maire Sullivan (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth) and Lily Williamson (Colfax, Ind./Western Boone) were tied for second on the team with 89 strokes each. Senior Olivia Phillips (Muncie, Ind./Muncie) rounded out the top four with a single-round total of 98 strokes.
Sophomore Reagan Guthrie (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa Area) also competed and turned in an 18-hole score of 101 strokes.
Additionally, Trine had one player compete as an individual in sophomore Anabelle Burkholder (Lima, Ohio/Bath) who navigated the course with a score of 103 strokes.
Trine will wrap-up the season on Saturday, Apr. 24 when it competes in the Calvin Invitational at Thornapple Point Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Mich. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
