ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's golf team placed sixth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)'s fourth jamboree event of the 2023-24 season on Thursday afternoon at Zollner Golf Course. The Saint Mary's College Belles extended their lead in the conference standings with a low team score of 320.
Junior Grace Dubec led the Thunder with a score of 80 to place fifth on the player leaderboard. She hit for birdie on holes 2, 5 and 16 and improved her placement in the conference statistics for a chance at All-MIAA honors.
Senior Caroline Boyd fired an 85 to score 15th. Boyd had six pars on the front nine and nine total pars in her round. Sophomore Grace Thiele carded an 89 (29th), while freshman Mae Norman shot a 91 (36th) and sophomore Calley Ruff a 92 (38th) to complete the scoring team.
Sophomore Sophie Argyle and junior Bailey Bravata led Trine individuals with dueling 90's. The sophomore had back-to-back birdies on holes five and six to highlight her day.
The MIAA Championship rounds conclude the spring season beginning on Monday, April 22 at Gull Lake View West in Richland, Michigan.
