ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine University men's golf team placed second at the Trine Spring Invitational hosted at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Ind.
Freshman Mark Civanich (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) fired a round of 71 strokes to lead the Thunder and placed in a tie for second overall among the field. Senior Cameron Ruge (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater), sophomore Mitch Lowney (Fenton, Mich./Clarkston Everest) and freshman Jack Brockie (Jackson, Mich./Hanover Horton) all tied for the second lowest total on the team with rounds of 74 strokes and all three players placed in the top-10 in a tie for eighth.
Senior Jeffery Uhls (Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville) rounded out the scoring with an 18-hole total of 82 strokes.
Additionally, Trine had two players compete as individuals in junior Justin Glessner (Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville) and sophomore Mitch Blank (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale). Glessner navigated the course with a round of 80 strokes and Blank completed his round one shot back of Glessner with an 81.
The men's golf team is scheduled to compete at the Calvin (Mich.) University Invitational on Monday, Apr. 12. The round is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich.
