ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team is ranked in multiple preseason polls as the team prepares for the 2023-24 season.
In the D3hoops.com Preseason Poll, the Thunder find themselves 17th in the nation. Trine is the top team from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) represented in the poll, with Hope College ranked 21st and Calvin University receiving votes. In total, five different teams that the Thunder play are receiving votes to be nationally ranked, including their first opponent in Baldwin Wallace University.
After finishing 15th in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) final poll of 2022-23, Trine is ranked 13th in the WBCA Preseason Coaches Poll heading into the 2023-24 campaign. The Thunder are one spot behind Hope in that poll, with four of the five opponents earning national votes in those rankings.
The regular season begins for the Trine women's basketball team on Wednesday, November 15 at 7 p.m. when the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets visit the MTI Center.
