ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's hockey team came up with the program's biggest victory in its history over visiting Finlandia University by the score of 9-1.
The Thunder came up with two goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Juniors Emily Moore (London, Ontario) and Kailey Cameron (Nowthen, Minn.) came up with the goals.
After an early goal from Finlandia, the second period came up all Thunder as they tallied a massive five goals in the period to take a 7-1 lead.
Sophomore Brandi Wilson (Fenton, Mich.) led the way with a pair of tallies while juniors Eryn Isaacson (Fenton, Mich.) and Sierra Westner (Saginaw, Mich.) along with freshman Makena Thompson (Anchorage, Alaska) added a goal apiece.
The third period saw the Thunder turn a victory into a record-breaking one as they scored two more goals to bring their total to nine, a single-game record for the team. The eight-goal margin of victory is also a record for the team.
Moore tallied a second and sophomore Theresa DiMaggio (Shelby Township, Mich.) added another to finish off the scoring summary for the team.
In net senior Molly Scarborough (Ramsey, Minn.) finished off her Trine career with the 32-save victory.
The Thunder finish the season 9-10-4 overall and 5-9-2 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.
