ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Trine University women's soccer team will travel to face Calvin University in the championship match of the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament on Saturday, November 5. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 1 p.m. on Zuidema Field in Grand Rapids, Mich.
All those wishing to attend must purchase a ticket online through the MIAA's Ticketing Portal. Trine University strongly suggests purchasing your tickets ahead of the game and bringing either a digital or print copy of your ticket to the gate.
This is the second straight championship match for the Thunder, having advanced to the game last season before falling to Hope College. This season the team got the better of the Flying Dutch in the semifinal match played on Wednesday, jumping to an early lead and taking a 3-0 victory. Three different members of the team tallied goals in the contest, with sophomore Bella Mabry recording two assists and drawing the free kick that led to the third.
In the regular season matchup between the Knights and the Thunder, the nationally-ranked Calvin squad came out on top by the score of 1-0. Trine did a strong job of keeping the game scoreless through all of the first and most of the second half, but a 77th minute goal was the decision maker.
