ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University men's volleyball player Hunter Haas (Cincinnati, Ohio/Bishop Moeller) has been named this week's Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League's (MCVL) Defensive Player of the Week. It is the second time this season that Haas has earned the honor.
Trine posted a pair of victories last week against Wittenberg (Ohio) University defeating the Tigers, 3-0, in both matches.
Individually, Haas totaled 29 digs, averaging 4.83 digs per set. His 3.84 digs per set in 2021 lead the MCVL and rank first nationally in Division III.
For the season, Haas totaled 215 digs and has 43 set assists (0.77 assists per set). Additionally, Haas has tallied three kills in 56 sets played.
The wins against Wittenberg also secured a spot in the MCVL Tournament that is scheduled to begin next week. Opponents and start times are still to be determined.
