KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Trine University men’ golf team finished in a tie for third place at the fourth MIAA Jamboree of the season shooting a team score of 304.
The event was hosted by Kalamazoo College and played at the par-72, 6,630 yard Milham Park. Adrian College took home to team title with a score of 292. Albion, Calvin and Trine all tied for third, four shots behind second place Hope.
Leading the way for the Thunder was junior Pat Wolcott (Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) carding a 2-over-par 74 to finish in a tie for 5th. Sophomore Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) finished in a tie for 10th with a round of 3-over-par 75. Max Niehans (Nashville, Ind./Brown County), a senior, finished the afternoon with a 5-over-par 77 to finish in a tie for 18th. Sophomore Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) finished his day in a tie for 22nd, shooting a round of 6-over-par 78. Rounding out the team scoring was senior Brandon McElhiney (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) carding an 86 to finish in 42nd place.
Playing as an individual was freshman Mike Reynolds (Wolcottville, Ind./Prairie Heights) who finished the day tied for 22nd with a round of 78.
Trine will host the men’s fifth Jamboree of the season on September 24 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
