HOLLAND, Mich. - The Trine University men’s golf team placed fourth at the sixth MIAA Jamboree of the season with the team total 310. The Thunder now sit in a tie for third in the conference standings with two events remaining.
Played at the Wuskowhan Players Club, host Hope College took the team win with a score of 298. Trine finished just one stroke behind Alma in third and three behind second place Calvin.
Senior Todd Wisler (Bryan, Ohio/Bryan) led the Thunder with a round of 76 finishing in a tie for seventh. Sophomore Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) was just behind in a tie for ninth with a round of 77. Senior Max Niehans (Nashville, Ind./Brown County) tied for 14th after he finished with a round of 78 while sophomore Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) followed just behind carding a 79 in a tie for 16th. Rounding out the team scoring for the Thunder was junior Pat Wolcott (Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) who finished in a tie for 34th, carding a round of 85.
Trine will host the Ken Venturi Invitational on September 30 starting at Noon.
