ANGOLA, Ind. – The Trine University women's basketball team climbed to the fourth spot in the D3hoops.com Top 25 this week following a 69-56 victory at Albion College, who is receiving votes in the poll.
The Thunder notched their fifth straight win last Wednesday and are 6-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play. Kayla Wildman [Rockford, Mich. / Rockford] led Trine in scoring with 18 points and tied for the team lead with four rebounds in their last game.
On Wednesday, January 26, the #4 Thunder take on the #1 Hope College Flying Dutch in Holland, Michigan at 7:30 pm. If Trine wins, they can tie Hope for the top spot in the conference standings. Earlier this season, the Flying Dutch topped the Thunder 70-61. Hope is currently riding the nation's longest winning streak at 61 consecutive victories.
