HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) has selected freshman Isabel Ferguson as the MIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
The Defiance, Ohio native was in action along with the rest of the Trine University women's track and field squad at the Mrs. G Alumni Invitational inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC) on Saturday afternoon.
Ferguson recorded two personal bests at the event, the first coming in the triple jump. She was second with a mark of 9.90 meters (32' 5.75"). In the high jump, Ferguson secured a third-place finish with a new best height of 1.51 meters (4' 11.50"). She is closing in on the school record in the high jump, which currently sits at 1.55 meters (5' 1.0").
This upcoming weekend, the Thunder will be split at two meets, the Crimson & Gold Invitational at Oberlin College on February 9 and the Midwest Elite Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on February 10.
