ANGOLA, IND. -- Trine University football players Alex Price (Reading, Mich./Reading) and Isaac Zager (Lincoln, Neb./Lutheran) have been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive and Defensive "Players of the Week."
Price earned offensive "Player of the Week" honors after posting a career-high 331 passing yards on 16-of-25 completions with two scores in a 36-21 win against Olivet (Mich.) College in the MIAA and season finale this past Saturday (Apr. 17). For the season, Price finished with an even 1000 yards passing on 61-of-111 attempts with six touchdowns. He also rushed for 79 yards and found the endzone once.
Zager finished with four tackles (three solo and one assist) against the Comets, including three tackles for loss that included a pair of quarterback sacks. He also had a forced fumble. Overall for the year, Zager finished tied for sixth on the team in tackles with 14 total stops (six solo and eight assists) with five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. The forced fumble he recorded against Olivet was his first of the season.
Trine ended the 2020-21 season with a 4-1 overall record and 2-1 in the MIAA.
