NORTON, Ohio – At the 2023 Great Lakes Regional, the Trine University women's cross country team secured a tenth-place finish as a team. The Thunder now await the results of the NCAA selection committee and the unveiling of the NCAA DIII National Championship participants on Sunday, November 12. The region's automatic bid went to the winners of the race, the Calvin University Knights, via tiebreaker with DePauw University.
Head Coach Zach Raber had this to say of the team's performance Saturday in the 6K race: "The women's team had another really good performance. After graduating almost our entire varsity from last year, this group of women worked so hard in the offseason to make sure Trine didn't lose a beat at the conference and regional levels. Their hard work paid off and I couldn't be more excited for them. There are great things ahead for this group!"
Sophomore Bailey Puckett led the charge for Trine with a 40th place finish. She recorded a time of 22:02.2 in the race, a new career-best. Freshman Annabel Stanley did the same by placing 51st at 22:19.4. Sophomore Eleanor Young was just behind in 53rd place after scoring a 22:20.4 (personal best).
Sophomore Chloe Goodrich in 57th (22:24.5), junior Lydia Randolph in 73rd (22:37.6), junior Hannah Parker in 86th (22:50.6) and senior Marissa Kenney in 152nd (23:59.2) rounded out the scoring for the Thunder.
