MARSHALL, Mich. - In their first MIAA Jamboree of the season, the Trine University men’s golf team took third place with a team score of 321.
Hope College took the team win on the day with a score of 317 at the par-72 6,741 yard Medalist Golf Club. Alma’s Marty Predmesky took the individual medalist honors with a 1-under-par 71.
Leading the way for the Thunder was sophomore Cody Knapp (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center) with a 3-over-par 75 to finish fourth. In a tie for 17th was fellow sophomore Bryce Moore (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) with an 80. In a tie for 20th was seniors Nolan Eli (Genoa, Ohio/Genoa) and Graham Bennett (Charlotte, N.C./Mallard Creek) with rounds of 83. Rounding out the team scoring for the Thunder was sophomore Connor Dwyer (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater) who finished tied for 26th, carding an 86.
Playing as an individual was sophomore Corey Bremigan (Russia, Ohio/Russia) who finished in a tie for 26th with an 86 on the afternoon.
The Thunder will take the weekend off before returning to action on September 10 at the Speiss Memorial Tournament hosted by Defiance College beginning at 10:00 a.m.
